REBAJES COPPER JEWELRY

Rebajes made jewelry between the 1930s and 1960s.  The majority of their pieces were copper.  The do make silver pieces, but I believe they are rare.


I have three pieces of Rebajes Copper Jewelry.

The first piece is a Rebajes Copper Medallion/Pendant/Necklace.  It is called the "Greek Head".  It was done in copper only from about 1945 to 1950.  Rebajes Jewelry (Facebook) Gave me that information.

 
 
This piece is signed.  I'm not sure what the name of this piece is, it appears to be a Greek Man with the Leaf Crown and curly hair.  This Rebajes piece is a bit heavy as well, but the chain is triple coiled and sturdy.  The clasp on the necklace is also signed with the Rebajes name.
 
The next pieces are also signed Rebajes.  It is a copper pin and matching copper earrings.
 

 
Both pieces could use cleaning.  I don't know is cleaning copper would be advisable.  I am not familiar with cleaning copper, but do not want to damage these unique Rebajes pieces.  If you have information about these pieces, post a reply.

SHOULDER BAG -  This bag can be worn over the shoulder.  It has a long strap and will fall just around your waist.  Now the Hobo, has a shorter strap and round-like shape and tends to hug the body.

TOTE BAG - This bag has a short handle and a large body.  That's so that we can "tote" all of our stuff with us.  The Tote is sometimes called a "Carryall". Totes don't usually zip or snap close.

LUNCH OR TALL TOTE - This particular tote will have a longer strap and longer leaner body. Its meant to resemble a lunch bag with its rectangle shape, some designers to call it the Lunch Tote.

SACTHEL BAG -  Also called the East West.  This bag has a medium length strap and a tube shaped body.  Many satchels have 2 front flap pockets and even side pockets.  They can zip close or have a flap, but the shape is tubular. A similar stype bag is the duffle.

SLING BAG or CROSSBODY BAG - This bag, also known as the Cross-Body, is worn across the body and hangs to at the most, your hip area.  It is usually a small bag, sometimes called the pouch.  This is the on the go bag. You don't want to carry many things or have a too big bag.

MESSENGER BAG -  This type of bag has been around since the horse and buggy. It has an adjustable shoulder strap and large flap, just enough to cover the front of the bag.  Used by cyclist to deliver mail, now we have laptops!  Whew!

President Obama and Daughter Take a Swin in the Gulf!!

Saw a newspaper article with President Obama and Sasha taking a swim in the Gulf.  Looked pretty clean.  My only question is how can oil spill in the Gulf Sea for over 100 days be safe enough to swim in?  The oil cap has been sealed and now the oil is gone.  How dumb to they make us Americans our for? Perhaps they just double cleaned for the photo Op.  But nevertheless, It looks clean, but I pray we don't start to see new species of sea life or even worse, extraordinarily large numbers of dead fish showing up here and there.

Please don't let the story die!  Where are they putting all the oil they skimmed?  Hmm!  Good Question.
